A Unique Opportunity to DOUBLE Your Donation
Dear Bicycling Enthusiast,
ABC has a unique opportunity right now that you can join in to help immensely with our work. The Morgan family has generously donated $5,000 to ABC, with the offer of another $5,000 donation if we can come up with $5000 in local matching donations. We are so close to meeting this challenge, as folks just like you have already donated over $4,000. Your donation of any amount today will help us get over the finish line and unlock the resources we need to maintain the Athens area as a cycling paradise of abundant, high-quality trails.
Over the past few years Athens Bicycle Club has been feeling growing pains– fortunately, for the most part they hurt so good. We have more trails, in better shape, than ever before. The Athens Bicycle Club (ABC) plays a huge role in keeping the trails in our local state parks and national forest free of downed trees and mud holes, and ABC members are many of the most active users of these trails. As the number of miles of trails expands, especially due to the growth of the Baileys Trail System, our hope for ABC is that we can keep up with the growth for as long as possible. Simply put: to do that, we need to keep increasing our capacity to match the increase in trail miles, which means we need adequate numbers of workers and tools. These two simple things have associated costs. We’ve started investing in promotional events and materials to reach potential new members, who we look to both for financial support and to help share the trail work load. We’ve also used local donations to invest in tools that make us more efficient. We have two trail work bikes donated by Joey Boyle and have used other local donations to purchase electric chainsaws, brush cutters, and protective equipment. Your support today helps us continue this work into the future!
If you deduct your charitable giving ABC is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Please consider making your donation electronically through our website or Facebook page. Analog donations can be mailed to Athens Bicycle Club P.O. Box 624 Athens, OH 45701.
Thank you,
