Athens Bike to Work Day (BTWD) 2022 will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14. This is a new date, as in the past BTWD in Athens has been held at the same date as the National Bike to Work Day in May. In order to be able to include Ohio University students and faculty, and in hopes of drier weather, the organizing committee has decided to organize BTWD 2022 in September.
Athens BTWD is an event to celebrate and support active commuting and encourage people to try biking to work or school. It is organized by HAPCAP transit, Ohio University, Athens City-County Health Department, Athens Bicycle Club, and sponsored by Kindred Market.
The event is ideal for all bicyclists, regardless of their skill level. Four pit stops with refreshments will be located throughout the City of Athens and commuters are encouraged to stop by one or more pit stops on Wednesday, September 14, from 7:30-10:00 am for free coffee, water, and snacks.
Pit Stops will be available at the following locations:
- Habitat House on W. Union Street
- Uptown Athens at the Courthouse
- OU Campus: Corner of Richland Ave & South Green Dr.
- East Side: On bikeway near Stimson Ave/Mill Street
Local sponsors include Kindred Market, who is proving coffee at all four pit stops.
