Athens Bicycle Club Meeting, October 14, 2003

Present: Malcolm Idleman, Tracy Kitts, Peter Kotses, Meredith Erlewine, Mac Stricklen

1. Upcoming Trail Maintenance Days

We agreed to cancel a trail maintenance day planned for Lake Hope State Park on Oct. 25 due to festivities occurring at the park that day (park management suggested this would not be the best day for trail maintenance activities). Instead, we’ll focus our work that day on trail re-routes at Strouds Run State Park. Pete and Mac will coordinate flagging before that date, and Mac will coordinate volunteers from the Ohio University Mountain Bike Club to work on the 25th.

We scheduled an impromptu work party for this Saturday (Oct. 18) at Lake Hope State Park. Meet at Grouse Point at 10 a.m.

2. Lake Hope State Park Update

Malcolm reported that the park continues to be appreciative of the club’s work on the trail system and has given approval to continue work on the new Wildcat trail.

3. Next Meeting

The next meeting will take place Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7:15 p.m. at the Athens Public Library.
