1. IMBA Membership Renewal
Peter gave Paul a check to pay for the club’s IMBA membership
renewal.
Paul will get names and addresses of land managers with whom the
club is involved so they can receive IMBA mailings.
2. Bike Trailer
Paul ordered and received plans for building tool carriers for the
club’s new B.O.B trailer.
3. Tour of the Hocking River Valley
*Paul reserved the usual group camp site for this year’s tour.
*The park manager at Forked Run informed Paul that the club will
receive a discount on the camp site if the club participates in
an upcoming (but not yet announced) clean-up day at the park.
*Matt Rapposelli has agreed to cater again this year.
*Tom suggested a new route and the club approved it. Tom will make
the new map.
*Malcolm suggested adding a "bonus" loop for day one (an
optional loop). Everyone agreed it was a good idea.
*Tim agreed to host the "after tour," where people can
pick up their gear and eat food.
*Tim made a Web-based registration form, and Meredith made a hard
copy. Pete will make copies to distribute around town and mail.
Pete also will e-mail those who indicated they’d like to be
contacted via e-mail regarding the tour.
*This is the 30th anniversary of the tour, and everyone agreed we
should think of ideas of ways to celebrate that.
4. New Club URL
Tim set up a new URL for Athens Bicycle Club: http://www.athensbicycleclub.org.
5. Club Jerseys
Club jerseys have arrived. Paul mailed them to all out-of-towners
who had placed orders, and Tim distributed the rest around town.
6. March 10 Work Party
The club decided that bridges are the top priority for the March
10 work party.
Participants can meet either at a) Athens Bicycle (14 W. Stimson
Ave., Athens) at 9:15 to carpool, or b) at the Little Sandy/Sidewinder
trailhead at 10:15. Malcolm will meet participants at the trailhead
at 10:15.
Camping is available and reserved for the night of March 10 at camp
sites 131-133, right next to the Habron trailhead. There is no penalty
if no one chooses to camp.
The club agreed to split participants into four work crews: one
working its way down from the water tower to Habron; one working
its way up from the Habron campsite; one on bridges; and one delivering
building materials to the Habron bypass.
7. Tour of Zaleski
The club selected dates for Tour of Zaleski: September 22-23.
8. Insurance
The club agreed to again purchase insurance for club tours in 2001.
It will provide the same coverage as last year (basic liability),
and is relatively inexpensive.
9. More Work Parties
The club planned two more work parties before summer:
April 14
May 19
